I enjoyed the recent trailer to Thor: Ragnorak. One part in particular made me laugh out loud so I thought I'd do a little sketch imagining what that would have been like.
I LOVE "art of" books, especially for animated films and classic illustrators. I remember the first one I bought over 20 years ago. It was "The Art of Pocahontas", bought at Disney World Florida on a special trip, just me and my Dad. I literally spent HOURS going through it, page by page, carefully studying and admiring all the beautiful sketches and paintings that were found inside. It was a treasure to me and so inspiring. And... I got hooked. Since then, my collection has grown substantially, filling book shelves both at home and at work.
And I think because of that, I've always dreamed of someday having my OWN art book. Well this year, thanks to the encouragement of my friends and family, I finally decided to go for it. It took several months of work and a lot of learning along the way, but I'm happy to say that my first art book "Monsters & Mayhem Volume 1" is finally available for purchase!
I'm immensely proud of it and I think you'll enjoy it too! 58 color pages chocked full of my sketches and digital paintings of monsters, creatures, heroes, villains, and a few other surprises as well. 8x8 inch format, perfect bound, with a durable matte laminate wrap-around cover. Plus, every copy comes signed by me. Just click on the "shop" link and you can buy one for yourself! Thanks!
To begin with, WELCOME to my website and first blog post! I'll try and use this blog to keep you updated with any news or thoughts I might have. And of course I'll be posting new art that may not be found elsewhere in my gallery section. So to start off, here's a little goblin concept I painted recently!
